China Town

China Town (Juramento 166 and Arribeños 2100 intersection, Buenos Aires) – this is a rather small district in Buenos Aires (consisting of just a few city blocks). Nevertheless, as Argentina’s only “barrio chino” (China Town), there are over 100 Asian-owned businesses in the area. Despite its name, there are (alongside mainland Chinese immigrants here), Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean and Laotian immigrants and small businesses as well. There are Buddhist temples, classes in meditation, Chinese calligraphy, Mandarin, Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chaun — elements of a “china town” in other major global cities like New York and San Francisco.
